DESCRIPTION
It is roughly 30-36cm and between 5 and 6kg. The Japanese Spitz are always white in colour. The ears are small and pointed upright. The Japanese Spitz face is wedged shaped and it has oval shaped eyes.
TEMPERAMENT
The Japanese Spitz has a friendly temperment though some can be wary of strangers. They have a loud, high pitched bark. This breed learns quickly as long as the owner is always consistent.
HISTORY
Everything about the Japanese Spitz strongly suggests that it is simply a small version of the Samoyed. Creation of the breed commenced in the late 1800s. Very popular in Japan in the 1950s, and although numbers in the native land have declined, it has become increasingly popular in Europe and North America.
